Manoj is the National Clinical Lead for the Team Based Quality Review Programme (NHS Education Scotland), which aims to improve safety reviews and organisational learning in health and social care. He is also the Patient Safety Group Educational Lead at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Manoj is a Consultant Surgeon and Associate Director of Medical Education at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers and Regional Surgical Ambassador for the RCSEd. Manoj is the Course Director for the Team Based Quality Reviews Course (RCSEd) and the Course Lead for the MSc in Patient Safety and Clinical Human Factors at the University of Edinburgh. He has a keen interest in Human Factors and Safety Sciences in healthcare and completed a Master’s degree in Patient Safety: A Human Factors Approach from the University of Aberdeen in 2011 as well as the Scottish Quality and Safety Fellowship. He has been an advocate and ambassador for the Clinical Human Factors Group since 2014. Manoj is an FRCS examiner for the Intercollegiate Specialty Board in General Surgery and External Adviser for the Scottish Academy.
