Clifford Y. Ko, MD, MS, MSHS, FACS, FASCRS, directs the Division of Research and Optimal Patient Care at the American College of Surgeons (ACS), managing quality improvement programs like the ACS Geriatric Surgery Verification (GSV) Program. He leads ACS NSQIP, honored with the Eisenberg Award. Recognized as a top health care safety leader, Dr. Ko specializes in surgical quality of care, focusing on measurement, process improvement, and value-based care. He advises organizations such as the WHO and National Academy of Medicine. A double board-certified surgeon, he practices at UCLA, where he is a professor of surgery and public health
